Here at Hamilton Professional, I recruit Recruitment Consultants and it never fails to astound me how many Recruitment companies simply mislead potential new Consultants.
You’d be surprised how many Recruitment Consultants I meet who tell me that they were oversold their current role during the interview process. Without doubt the biggest “oversell” is that it’s a “hot desk” or that it’s an “autonomous environment”. Some agencies will tell a Candidate what they think they want to hear so that they sign on the dotted line.
If you are interviewing for a Recruitment Consultant position, make sure you do your due diligence and ask the hard questions before accepting a job offer.
Alternatively you should speak to a respected Rec to Rec. Firstly, a good Rec to Rec will want to give you an accurate picture of the environment you’ll be entering. They will not want to do a replacement if you decide to leave during your probation period.
Secondly, we get told a lot of information about a lot of different Recruitment agencies. We can decipher fact from the fiction and then pass this valuable information on to you.
