Do you want 2019 to be your best year yet? If your answer is yes, then here are the four things you need to be doing now to ensure you get off to a flyer after the New Year’s festivities:
- FOCUS ON THE EASY WINS
There are two things I’d be focusing on here. Firstly, you need to be identifying and then focusing on Clients who will be willing to hire between now and Christmas for a New Year start. Quickly work out which clients can interview now, and get through the recruitment process before Christmas.
Secondly, which Candidates are you talking to now who are ready and keen to move. With less than three weeks to go before Christmas, which of your Candidates will make themselves available to interview and accept offers before the Christmas break.
- KEEP PUSHING AS HARD AS YOU CAN
Once the office Christmas Party is done and dusted, the temptation is to take your foot off the accelerator. Don’t fall into this trap. Stay motivated and keep your productivity levels at a premium with the knowledge that, in just a couple of weeks, you can put your feet up and relax in the sun during the Christmas / New Year sojourn.
- BE TALKING TO YOUR CLIENTS AND CANDIDATES
You know what date you’ll be returning after your Christmas break. Start trying to fill up your diary now with Client visits for the New Year. Don’t leave it until you get back in January because there is a good chance your competitors will beat you to it and your client’s diaries will be full.
It’s a great time to be talking to your passive Candidates and headhunting fresh talent. With things starting to wind down for Christmas, people have time to think about their career plans for 2019 and they will be more willing to chat over the phone or meet for a face to face interview.
- TAKE A WELL EARNED BREAK
With most Recruitment Agencies closing over the New Year period, it’s a great time to recharge the batteries. It’s very difficult in Recruitment to take a complete break during the year. You know what’s it’s like, you just can’t relax when your phone is still ringing.
Take these couple of weeks to turn off the phone, spend some quality time with family and friends, enjoy a good book in the sun and declutter the brain. You’ll be surprised how many inspirational ideas you’ll come up with for 2019 when you give yourself the time to do so.
